Somalia’s Energy Ministry provides free electricity to 335 health and education facilities

The Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Federal Government of Somalia, in partnership with international partners, has successfully provided electricity to 335 health and education facilities across the country at no cost.
Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Abdullaahi Bidhaan Warsame, visited several of the beneficiary education facilities today, including the Somali National University, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education, and various schools in the capital.
The initiative aims to support Somali communities by ensuring reliable electricity access for critical health and education services. By powering hospitals, clinics, schools, and universities, the project seeks to enhance service delivery and create an environment conducive to learning and healthcare.
Minister Warsame emphasized the importance of such projects in improving public services and expressed gratitude to the international partners who contributed to the implementation of this initiative.
The electricity provision project reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to modernizing Somalia’s energy infrastructure and improving the quality of public services for citizens.
